No Worries Over NATS
You may have read about a recent security compromise with NATS. The Next-Generation Administration and Tracking System (NATS) is a popular adult industry third party affiliate backend solution. Used by a lot of adult pay sites, NATS is primarily an affiliate webmaster management system. NATS is also integrated with over 30 credit card processors for transaction handling, commonly referred to as cascading billing.
NATS does not actually look at or store your credit card information. What it does is direct the information to a primary credit card processor. If that processor does not approve the purchase, NATS tries a second, third, fourth, and so on, until it gets an approval.

When word got out about the security breach, some people tried to suggest consumer credit card information had been compromised. This rumor is not true! VISA regulations prohibit sites from looking at, or storing, consumer credit card information. It makes no difference if they are using NATS, or any other software that facilitates cascading billing. Only the credit card processors can look at and store your information, and they are experts at keeping that information secure from hackers.
