Is Brokeback stealing COLT’s thunder?
COLT Studio Group’s Buckshot Productions has enjoyed huge success with their two part epic BuckleRoos. The cowboy love series walked away with more awards at this year’s annual GayVN Show than any other man-on-man feature since its conception. With all this success under their belt, one has to wonder how the studio is reacting to their mainstream competition, Brokeback Mountain. Ang Lee’s drama about two cowboys who fall in love earned seven Golden Globe nominations this week.

I guess its no surprise the folks at COLT see Brokeback Mountain as validation. “We’re so happy that Hollywood finally is recognizing man-on-man love stories and truthfully we felt cowboy love is the most appealing and sexually stimulating storyline”, said COLT’s Kristofer Weston. He went on to say that they are, “very proud to see that Brokeback Mountain is also getting the kudos it deserves by its peers.”
COLT Studio Group’s Buckshot Productions division continues to receive accolades for its innovative new release of this year’s all-male western epic BuckleRoos Premium Collector’s Edition. The 3-disc set packages Parts I & II, and a third bonus disc. The bonus disc has Zak Spears in a 50-minute hardcore scene with COLT Man Carlo Masi. It also includes eXposed, a 45-minute documentary of The Making of BuckleRoos, that continues to appear at gay and lesbian film festivals in major cities across the globe.

“We hope you run out and support Brokeback Mountain and BuckleRoos today”, said Weston.
