I started covering the story about John Paulus joining Lucas Entertainment as an exclusive model back on February 9 and February 10. On Monday I got an opportunity to pull John away from his busy schedule and ask him a few questions. This is what Mr. Paulus had to say…

BILL: Compared to your experiences in the South, how have you been received in New York?

JOHN: I have been received well in New York. Since the story with Clay and me broke I have found more Southern Hospitality on the streets of New York than home in North Carolina. Michael and his staff have made me feel welcomed and very comfortable.

BILL: Has all the media attention changed you any?

JOHN: Only in the sense that I feel more comfortable articulating my views.

BILL: What plans do you have for delivering your message about condom use?

JOHN: I hope that through various interviews I can stress that regardless of who the person is or the pressure they put on you not to practice safe sex, it’s ultimately up to you to be strong enough to say NO.

BILL: What is your reaction to companies producing bareback films?

JOHN: I don’t want to judge others companies on what they produce. As a gay man I’ve been judged and didn’t appreciate it. Personally, however, I think it’s important that the Adult Entertainment Industry use their movies to promote safe sex; to show that sex can still be fun and enjoyable, and safe.

BILL: Can you share a little with us about your first film with Lucas Entertainment? Maybe a hint about the story line, or who you will be working with.

JOHN: It was life long fantasy come true. I worked with Wilson Vasquez who reeks of sexuality. I think I could have done 5 hours of non-stop filming with him. By the way I didn’t keep the cum rag.

BILL: What’s it like working with Michael Lucas and Lucas Entertainment?

JOHN: Michael is wonderful. He is a very kind and caring person who has been really supportive. Very genuine. His staff is absolutely terrific. They have been accommodating, friendly; there aren’t enough superlatives to describe how great they’ve been.

BILL: Is working in adult entertainment a long-term career change for you?

JOHN: That will be for the public to decide. I hope they enjoy my first movie and I look forward to doing many others if this one is well received.

BILL: Other than Michael and Howard Stern, have you met any celebrities while in New York?

JOHN: I haven’t really had the opportunity to go out and mingle. I’ve spent the better part of the past 5 days unwinding from the stress of the death threats, doing interviews, and of course my passion hitting the gym; and wow what a fantastic gym David Barton is.
