The 13th Annual Hard Choice Awards announced this week that Steven Scarborough had been named Best Director for his body of work in 2006, singling out Justice, Black -N- Blue, and Trunks 2 for exceptional notice. This marks the second time this year that Scarborough, the president of Hot House Entertainment, has taken Best Director nod, winning earlier this year at the FICEB award show in Barcelona.
“While on the subject of directors,” said Onan the Vulgarian, lead reviewer for X-Factor, “I have to say that Hot House’s Steven Scarborough reinvented himself in 2006. From seemingly effortless but erotically flawless vanilla masterpieces to complex and serious themes to no-hold barred nastiness, he surprised me again and again, showing not just versatility but the bold confidence of a director who knows what he wants to deliver and is at the peak of his professional powers to do it.”
Justice, the biggest production to date for Hot House, was also credited with a Best Sex Award for Shane Rollins and Trevor Knight’s jailhouse revenge sequence and Best Music for Rock Hard’s moving soundtrack (in a rare 3-way tie.) Hot House Exclusive Kent North also took Best Solo for his eye-popping dildo performance in At Your Service; and another unusual nod was given to the entire 21-man cast of Black -N- Blue who took an honorable mention in the Best Oral Sex category.
The Hard Choice Awards, the product of lead reviewer Onan The Vulgarian and X-Factor Magazine, a gay publication based out of Phoenix Arizona, are the third longest-running award showcase in the gay adult industry behind the Grabby’s and GAYVN Awards.
