Public reaction to the signing is mixed. The negative comments tend to focus on Paulus taking advantage of the media hype generated from his outing Aiken.  Positive reactions are focused on the curiosity in seeing Paulus in action.

The New York post reported last week that, “John Paulus , the former Army Green Beret who told the National Enquirer last week that he had gay sex with American Idol superstar Clay Aiken, says he may re-enact the romp in a porn movie.”

Yesterday Lucas Entertainment issued a statement that today Michael Lucas will accompany John Paulus to the Howard Stern Show. Lucas states, “John contacted me and talked about the problems and abuse he received in from ‘Claymates’ and of the strong presence of the Christian Coalition in his home state of North Carolina. He impressed me as a sweet, honest guy. I’m sure people will see that about him. For now, John is staying in New York, away from the troubles he faced as an out gay man in the South. Tomorrow I will accompany John to the Howard Stern Show.”

The most important topic for adult film star and director Michael Lucas is John’s claim that Clay Aiken allegedly pressured him not to use a condom during sex. “I urge the community to support Mr. Paulus as he joins me in the fight against unsafe, bareback sex,” said Lucas.

Sixty-five studios, 23 of them first-time nominees, share a total of 266 nominations in 35 categories for the 8th Annual GAYVN Awards, GAYVN Editor Doug Lawrence announced on Monday.

With 26 nominations, Titan Media emerged as the studio with the most nods for trophies at the March 9 event. (Its total includes two nominations for MSR Studios movies that Titan recently acquired from the estate of MSR’s late owner, Tony Alizzi.)

Three studios garnered 20 nominations each: All Worlds Video, Raging Stallion Studios, and Rascal Video. (Two of Rascal’s nominations are for sister company, ElectroVideo.)

Other top-nominated producers are Falcon Studios (19), Lucas Entertainment (18), and COLT Studio Group (16).

Michael Lucas’ Dangerous Liaisons, with 13 nominations, is the single most nominated movie. Following right behind it are Rascal Video’s Wrong Side of the Tracks 1-2 with 12 and Raging Stallion Studios’ Arabesque with 11. Each of these titles is in the running for Best Picture, 2005.

Other top-nom’d movies include Buckshot Productions’ Beyond Perfect (9), and Titan Media’s Cirque Noir (8). Jet Set Productions’ Wet Palms 7-9 and Red Devil Entertainment’s Dirty Little Sins earned seven each.
